Dr. Alan McAnelly was born in the panhandle of Texas on a cotton and cattle farm. He graduated from Texas A&M with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1969. He retired in 2004 and started ranching with sheep and cattle in Hamilton, TX. His interest in regenerative agriculture came later when he started utilizing cover crops to improve worn out cotton land.
Alan Culham is currently the Katahdin Hair Sheep International (KHSI) Operations Manager. He graduated from Michigan State University and did graduate work in animal science. He is a professional livestock and meats judge. He served as president and on the Board of Directors for National Sheep Improvement Program (NSIP). Alan was the manager of the Michigan State University Teaching and Research Center for several years. He is a consultant for American Sheep Industry (ASI), coordinating the Let's Grow program.
Dr. Hawkins received his Animal Science degree from Texas Tech and his Master's and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. He has raised sheep for 20 years and managed the flock at the Texas Tech Sheep Center while in school. He is currently a Technical Consultant for Purina where he consults and formulates rations for some of the key sheep and goat breeders in the state of Texas.
Zach Hagan is a procurement consultant for Western River Resources and long-time lamb buyer. While he works with a number of slaughterhouses and processing facilities, he also runs a commercial lamb operation so his passion is on the side of the producer. He will be presenting strategies and industry information to help you maximize profits and understand marketing options.
